Darren trained at the Allesley School of Dance in Coventry and then graduated from Laine Theatre Arts. He has recently added two productions to his numerous West End credits by performing as a dancer in the ENO production of Candide (Coliseum), whilst simultaneously performing as a Hobbit/Ranger/Orc/Elf and cover Gollum in the original cast of The Lord of the Rings at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. He then ended the run performing the role of Gollum. Before that he appeared in the Donmar’s new production of Guys and Dolls (Piccadilly Theatre) in the roles of Scranton Slim/Dance Captain, covering Rusty Charlie and Benny Southstreet. He has also appeared as Kevin in Debbie Does Dallas (Oxford Old Fire Station); ensemble/first cover Emile and Beast’s Man in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Beauty and the Beast (Stratford-upon-Avon); Protean in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Royal National Theatre); Bobby C/first cover Tony in Saturday Night Fever (UK tour); ensemble/first cover Goran in the original cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium); Curtis/first cover Michael in The Witches of Eastwick (Prince of Wales Theatre); featured artist in the original cast of Fosse the Musical (Prince of Wales Theatre); and Bailiff in Chicago (Adelphi Theatre).

He travelled extensively as a featured artist on a world cruise aboard the QE2.

Film and television appearances include: the movie Scenes of a Sexual Nature and Dresser in Miss Marple’s A Sleeping Murder. Darren has provided additional choreography on Make Me a Song (Players’ Theatre) and was Assistant Choreographer on Bugsy Malone at the Queen’s Theatre and Tin Pan Alley at the Edinburgh Festival.
